Franchise Lead, Rare Tumours

This is what you will do:

The Franchise Lead, Rare Tumours, Germany, reporting to the Head of Commercial, Germany, is responsible for achieving the revenue & profit targets and deliver against growth expectations. The incumbent inspires and motivates the Sales- and Marketing Organization Rare Tumours / NF1 and provides strategic & operational direction and leadership. The Franchise Lead is accountable for implementing a collaborative culture and driving cross-functional partnership across Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Excellence, Market Access and other cross-functional partners. In collaboration with the International Rare Tumours / NF1 Teams and relevant stakeholders (i.e. Marketing / Commercial Operations / Market Access), the incumbent leads the analysis of the current business and drives interpretation of insights to design, implement, monitor and adjust the commercial strategy and tactics. In close alignment with the global and international stakeholders, the FL ensures seamless and efficient implementation of customer-facing and digital/multichannel commercial initiatives. The Franchise Lead is expected to identify the best talent and build-up and lead a high-performance team and continuously develop the skills and capabilities of the team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering sales and profit targets and financial/commercial KPIs (e.g. product revenue and earnings targets)
  • Fostering a leadership culture which attracts, develops and retains high performer candidates, helping to build and shape a talent pool that will continue to drive the future success of the organization
  • As a key stakeholder, managing, motivating, and developing the Sales,  Marketing and Brand Team by setting clear objectives, effective coaching, evaluation and feedback on performance
  • Leading the development of country-level forecasts incl. operating expenses, revenue, patient dynamics, supply
  • Provide effective oversight and leadership of the business planning processes (incl. business cases) and that resources are effectively deployed to optimize business success
  • Ensure local plans are developed, implemented and monitored in conjunction with relevant cross functional teams and aligned with the Global/international brand strategy
  • Ensuring effective financial planning. Continually review financial results to identify variances; develop and monitor action plans to address issues
  • Manage expenses to budget and deliver targeted revenue and bottom-line contribution
  • Communicating proactively and relevantly to the International Rare Tumours / NF1 Leadership Team to ensure alignment of local/regional priorities
  • Developing  and implementing  a People & Culture Plan with strong emphasis on individual
  • Developing talent identification/management and succession planning as well as strategic focus on long term capability development
  • Developing effective and collaborative working relationships with cross functional leaders
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships and acting as the face of " Rare Tumours / NF1 " within the country; work with major stakeholders in the field including but not limited to  Key Opinion Leaders supporting the organization in achieving its goals and objectives
  • Providing strategic insight and direction to develop current and new business opportunities and maximize growth potential. Build the strategic direction and vision for the country, set ambitious sales objectives and drive the growth of " Rare Tumours / NF1 "
  • Inspiring new ways of working (digital/multichannel) and continuously measure success of commercial activities
  • Establishing an appropriate ‘tone from the top’ which emphasizes business ethics, integrity and compliance within a highly regulated industry
  • Ensuring compliance across all areas of GxP to maintain the highest standards of patient-focused ethical conduct in line with our values
  • Consistently showing superior interpersonal and organizational skills with high emotional intelligence. Seeking broad input and feedback; frequent and effective feedback/follow-up

You will need to have:

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in economics, Medicine, Pharmacy or Natural Sciences; Master or equivalent is preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience at Management Level in the Pharmaceutical Industry, preferably Business Unit Manager or equivalent, in a matrix-organisation and fast pace environment
  • At least 8 years in a people manager position, managing large teams and providing adequate management, coaching and development for the teams as well as proven track of enterprise leadership beyond the local market  position
  • Proven track record in Marketing and Sales, incl. Launch experience
  • Results driven; high customer orientation; strong business sense
  • Very good and inspirational Leadership skills with an open and enterprise mindset
  • High commitment; self-motivated; optimistic attitude and strong emotional intelligence
  • Fluent in German and English language both verbally and in writing

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Experience in matrix-organized enterprise in a Biotechnology environment, esp. Rare Disease and Rare Tumours / NF1
  • Launch experience in a leadership position in Rare Disease and / or Oncology
