Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and accuracy of the reporting and accounting processes, as per IFRS as well as the local statutory guidelines and supports finance and non-finance stakeholders within Nordics countries.

You will closely collaborate with local finance teams based in Stockholm & Brussels, covering FRA processes for Novartis Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. You will also closely work with other finance process-based teams in other locations i.e., mainly NOCC Prague, Hub Hyderabad and global team in Basel, as well as with various local and global stakeholders (CFO, business analysts, technical accounting etc.).


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with CFOs, Function Heads, and business leaders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Resolve cross-domain issues and drive standardization and optimization of FRA processes.

  • Ensure adherence to global policies and local statutory requirements.

  • Act as primary contact for external auditors (e.g., KPMG) for financial statement audits.

  • You will run the statutory audit process with our external auditors during annual and interim audits and ensure timely preparation of all relevant inputs and in adequate quality and drive solution for action items, in strong collaboration within and beyond FRA functions.

  • You will play key role in balance sheet reviews and FCRS reporting package reviews

  • You will contribute to reviewing statutory annual financial statements, income tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, you will review tax accounting and calculations following local rules.

  • Participating as FRA representative in projects as required bringing insights and understanding around accounting and tax matters.

  • Implement process improvements and automation initiatives.

  • Support global and regional projects impacting FRA operations.

  • Ensure robust internal controls and risk management practices.

Essential Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (CMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

  • Extensive experience in finance, preferably with Big 4 exposure.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.

  • Expertise in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit management.

  • Ability to work in a global matrix organization and drive change.

  • Fluent in English written and spoken and knowledge of either Danish or Swedish is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
