Role overview
We’re on a mission at Hastings to build a World Class finance function. As part of this, we are investing heavily into our technology, our people and our ways of working. We're now investing in a small number of high impact roles, to drive the next phase of our Transformation plan.
The Financial Analytics Lead owns the financial reporting infrastructure that drives our business planning and decision-making cycles, reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This role leads our transition to next-generation financial technology and analytics, positioning Hastings for accelerated growth and sharper strategic execution.
Job details
Lead end-to-end FP&A reporting: monthly and quarterly close, board materials, ExCo outputs, rolling forecasts, and annual planning cycles
Set the cadence and standards for reporting across the organisation — acting as the strategic partner to the business on planning assumptions, resource trade-offs, and reporting priorities
Build the FP&A, reporting, and analysis technology infrastructure that scales the business over the next 3 years, in partnership with Finance and Technology stakeholders
Drive the digitisation of Management Information and analytics capability, including through Workday, to deliver faster time to insight and clearer route to value
Own cross-functional initiative to deliver upgraded Groupwide Board and Exco reporting as part of wider Finance transformation, including new planning cycles, KPI redesign, and systems integration
Build and lead a high-performing team of FP&A and broader finance professionals, focusing on scaling capability in line with organisational ambition and develop the team structure and skill mix required for a modern, technology-enabled financial environment
Essential skills/experience:
Strong commercial acumen — someone who's excited about the intersection of finance, technology, and business strategy, and how data-driven insights unlock better decisions
A natural builder — demonstrable ability to design and implement scalable financial systems and processes that drive organisational performance
A strategic problem solver — someone who can take a complex challenge, architect the solution, and get stuck in to deliver it, setting aside seniority to do what's right
A gifted leader — able to build, inspire, and develop a team to deliver excellent financial performance and continuous improvement
A technology champion — comfortable leading digital transformation in finance, working with tools like Workday / SnowFlake / PowerBI, and partnering with Technology teams on integration
A clear communicator — who can translate complex financial narratives for diverse stakeholders, from operational leaders to the Executive Committee and Board
A hard worker – someone who is prepared to take ownership of work product and works hard to ensure the highest standards of delivery are met
