Working within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG), within the Microbiology Division (MBD), this is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate intern.

Our Finance Internship is a 12-month programme crafted for rising Finance and/or Accounting undergraduates working with our global functions and project teams. As a global organisation, we have many sites located across the world. The Finance Intern will be based at our Microbiology Divisional headquarters at our Basingstoke site in the UK.

A Day in the Life:

Our intern projects are designed to give you real-world finance and accounting experience and project responsibility in a large organisation. In addition to working within a team, you will receive additional opportunities to experience our culture with exposure to Finance leaders, as well as other leaders in the organisation. Interns will be asked to present an end-of-assignment presentation to their team of colleagues at the end of their internship. Projects could focus on the following Finance activities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Finance models

  • General Accounting and Reporting

  • Division Finance

  • Analytics

  • Master Data

  • Finance Transformation

Education:

  • Full-time student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. This will be a placement for your third year at university.

Experience:

  • Related work or internship experience helpful!

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader in the Finance function.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to handle multiple assignments, exercise good judgement and prioritise projects and time effectively.

  • Proactive and accountable with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Curious to understand business performance with an analytical mind.

  • Focused on quality, with strong attention to detail, and passionate about delivery.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, with Excel skills.
