Job Description:
HPE is seeking an experienced FP&A Director to support the HPE Networking organization. This role reports to the Director of Finance and will lead FP&A activities, reporting solutions, and data-driven decision support across a complex, vertical reporting environment.
Key responsibilities
Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning for HPE Networking.
Build and maintain reporting databases, analytics models, and scalable reporting solutions.
Deliver timely, accurate financial reports and insights to SVP/VP-level stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
Manage and develop a team of managers and individual contributors; allocate financial and human capital to meet goals.
Drive process improvements, policy development, and ensure compliance with accounting and control requirements (e.g., GAAP).
Oversee vendor relationships and lead implementation of business-wide finance programs.
Work comfortably within existing internal systems and vertical reporting structures; coordinate dotted-line relationships as needed.
Required qualifications
Strong FP&A expertise
Deep, demonstrable experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
Able to handle core FP&A responsibilities with minimal ramp-up.
Database & reporting skills (critical)
Proven expertise in database-building, data analytics, and designing reporting solutions.
Experience delivering effective, scalable reporting tools to address tooling and team challenges.
Experience with systems & vertical reporting
Familiarity with internal finance systems and comfort operating in vertical reporting structures.
Problem-solving & efficiency
Creative, efficient problem-solver with a record of delivering practical, scalable solutions.
Example candidate profile: demonstrated success similar to preferred profiles (e.g., Luis Tenorio).
Preferred indicators
Track record designing and implementing robust reporting databases.
Experience supporting analytics-driven decision-making and managing complex FP&A operations.
Management level definition
Leads a large or broad function/department; responsible for operational success, strategic alignment, and integration across functions.
Accountable for function performance, policy direction, and implementation of business plans.
Acts as a key advisor to executive management and influences strategy; typical reporting level is to VP. This role reports to Director of Finance within HPE Networking.
Education & experience
University degree in business, finance, or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (CPA, MBA) strongly preferred.
Typically 12+ years in finance or equivalent experience; 4+ years of people management experience.
Knowledge & skills
Strong financial consultation skills for senior leaders.
Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Excellent project management, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder influence skills.
Proven ability to build partnerships across functions and lead geographically distributed teams.
