This position will be responsible for FP&A activities associated with Corporate Overheads, including, HR, Legal, Transformation and others. This is an integral role within the Amex GBT finance team, reporting to the Manager, Corporate FP&A and partnering with the Amex GBT senior leadership to deliver FP&A and Decision Support, including: Driving Amex GBT financial performance management, supporting management to target, deliver and execute on financial plans. Responsible for Amex GBT finance team reporting, budgeting and financial planning process for Corporate Overhead functions including HR, Transformation, Legal, Compliance and EBITDA adjustments. Finance Support and Leadership to Executive Leadership Team members owning functions including CPO, CLO and Chief Transformation Offices. Tracking cost transformation benefits across the organization. Contribute to FP&A Transformation, including the centralization and simplification of FP&A and wider finance processes.
What You’ll Do on a Typical Day
Support development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts for selected Corporate teams – assist with analysis of requested changes, ensure the forecast system is updated, monitor headcount changes, prepare presentations that are reviewed with business leaders.
Support monthly results process to ensure that all required entries are booked, prepare variance analysis of results vs AOP or latest forecast, track headcount vs expectations, prepare presentations that are reviewed with business leaders.
Call out financial findings and practical insights to finance and/or business management
Support Ad-hoc tasks as required
Demonstrate and maintain high standards of accountability to deliver quality financial information on a timely manner
What We’re Looking For
Accounting or Finance degree required with at least 2 years of experience in FP&A or business partnering roles
Demonstrate excellent financial and quantitative skills. Highly motivated and proactive individual
Ability to ‘tell the story’ as well as strong presentation skills. Strong process definition experience, with an ‘automation mentality’
Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills. Understanding of finance and accounting principles
Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly flexible, dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills, with ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. Strong collaboration and influencing skills
Knowledge of travel industry and trends would be an advantage
Experience with SaaS applications – e.g. Planful, NetSuite, Workday, beneficial
