Founding Full Stack Engineer — Product & Marketplace
Misprint is a YC-backed marketplace for Pokémon cards; think StockX for collectibles, built around real-time pricing, liquidity, transparency, and trust.
We’re growing fast and building the category-defining marketplace for one of the largest collectible markets in the world. Pokémon cards are a massive, highly liquid, global market, but buying and selling them is still fragmented, opaque, and full of friction. Misprint is changing that with live market data, a real bid/ask system, better seller tooling, and a much more trustworthy collector experience.
We’re now hiring a Founding Full Stack Engineer to help us move faster on product. This is a high-ownership role focused on building customer-facing marketplace features, seller tools, buyer experiences, frontend polish, and the full-stack systems that support them.
You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering team to ship features across the marketplace, improve UX, and help turn Misprint into the default place collectors buy and sell Pokémon cards.
What you’ll do
You’ll work across frontend, backend, and product to build and improve:
- Buyer and seller experiences across the marketplace
- Listing creation, seller onboarding, inventory tools, bids, asks, offers, checkout, and order flows
- Marketplace search, filters, card detail pages, collection/watchlist experiences, and pricing data displays
- Mobile-responsive UX, frontend polish, and React Native app improvements across core user journeys
- Admin and internal tools that help support/ops resolve customer issues faster
- Backend APIs, database models, permissions, scripts, and automation
- Integrations with payments, shipping, catalog, inventory, and analytics tools
- Work with product, growth, and lifecycle teammates to ship experiments that improve activation, conversion, retention, repeat purchase behavior, and marketplace liquidity
What success looks like in your first 60–90 days
- You’ve shipped meaningful improvements to core buyer or seller flows
- You understand our product, users, and marketplace mechanics well enough to propose improvements
- You’ve taken ownership of at least one major feature or product area
- You’re comfortable moving between frontend, backend, and database work
- You’re helping us move faster without creating fragile systems
- The product feels better because of the details you notice and fix

- Are strong with React, Next.js, React Native, TypeScript, Tailwind, and responsive frontend development; React Native experience is a plus
- Are comfortable with PostgreSQL, data modeling, APIs, and backend logic
- Are interested in product and growth work, including onboarding, conversion, retention, lifecycle, and marketplace liquidity
- Have good product taste and care about UX, speed, and polish
- Can take a vague product problem and turn it into a shipped feature
- Communicate clearly, operate independently, and document as you go
- Like owning outcomes, not just completing tickets
- Are excited by marketplaces, payments, pricing data, trading cards, collectibles, or Pokémon
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Marketplace products
- Stripe / Stripe Connect
- Search, filtering, or inventory systems
- Growth, conversion, onboarding, or retention experiments

🎯 Interview Process
Our process is designed to be straightforward and conversational:
1. Intro call to learn more about Misprint, the role, and your background.
2. More technical interview with the engineering team. This is not a LeetCode-style interview; we’ll ask practical questions about products and systems you’ve built, how you approach full-stack problems, and how you think through tradeoffs.
3. Potential additional founder or team interview if helpful, focused on working style, ownership, and role fit.
4. Offer conversation covering compensation, equity, start date, and next steps.
We care most about whether you can ship real product, communicate clearly, and operate well in an early-stage startup environment.
