The Foundation Events Manager serves as primary coordinator of fundraising events for the Methodist Healthcare Foundation. Develops and oversees effort to encourage support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other supporters to ensure successful fundraising events. Monitors progress of events and identifies areas to expand reach. Seeks new supporters and enhances visibility for MHF and our needs. A Brief Overview
The Foundation Events Manager serves as primary coordinator of fundraising events for the Methodist Healthcare Foundation. Develops and oversees effort to encourage support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other supporters to ensure successful fundraising events. Monitors progress of events and identifies areas to expand reach. Seeks new supporters and enhances visibility for MHF and our needs. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Plans, organizes, and implements fundraising events for the Foundation to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Manages and coordinates communications for various fundraising events.
- Coordinates, strategizes, and implements annual Associate giving campaign.
- Promotes Foundation programs and MLH in order to develop community awareness and fundraising opportunities.
- Assists with other fundraising activities as needed, including recognition, cultivation and stewardship activities.
- Responsible for creating and managing Foundation event budgets.
- Manages volunteers to ensure the success of Foundation fundraising and stewardship events.
- Collaborates with President and other team members in implementing donor-hosted fundraising events.
- Promotes the flow of information by establishing, utilizing, and maintaining effective communication systems within and outside the department.
- Assists in coordination of donor recognition activities, societies, and events.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - Bachelor's Degree Communications
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Marketing
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Public Relations
Work Experience Requirements
- Required - Fundraising, volunteer management, special event coordination, or related experience. 1-3 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups in person, through presentations and in writing.
- Must be a diplomatic and enthusiastic advocate for the Foundation.
- Knowledge of database management or familiar with technology needed to manage events and fundraising activity.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with a variety of people in a team setting.
- Must have a high level of creativity.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Possesses a high level of organization and a strategic planner and thinker.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- Manages events coordination and supervises volunteers.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations and to work under pressure in a fast paced atmosphere.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends.
- Occasional travel to off-site locations
