Forward-Deployed Partner (Palantir Foundry / AIP)

ATLANTA, GA Full time

Forward-Deployed Partner (Palantir Foundry / AIP)

Role Summary & Mission

The FD Partner is the most complete role in the Palantir Center of Excellence — and intentionally so. This is not a relationship manager who oversees technical work from a distance. The FD Partner is a senior, deeply technical practitioner who is equally at home building in Palantir Foundry and AIP as they are presenting a Go/No-Go recommendation to an executive sponsor. They own the business relationship, set the value agenda, and get their hands dirty delivering it.

The FD Partner leads pods where needed, drives active development on the most complex or ambiguous use cases, and is ultimately accountable for adoption and ROI across their portfolio. They are the person in the room who can both write the Ontology and articulate why it matters to a CFO. Technical depth is non-negotiable — the credibility to lead FD Delta and FD Echo engineers, challenge delivery approaches, and unblock problems in Foundry must be earned through proficiency, not assumed through seniority.

This is a Forward Deployed role, so travel is expected. The range is between 10-30% (2-6 nights/month) on average, with some periods being higher and some periods being lower.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Delivery

  • Actively build and contribute to Palantir Foundry and AIP solutions — including data pipelines, Ontology modeling, Workshop applications, and AIP agent workflows — particularly on Prototype and complex Strategic use cases.
  • Lead technical design sessions and architecture decisions within the pod; serve as the senior technical voice when FD Delta engineers need direction or escalation.
  • Maintain sufficient hands-on proficiency in Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Ontology, Workshop, OSDK) and AIP (Agent Studio, Logic, Evals) to unblock delivery, review output, and identify quality issues.
  • Roll up sleeves during crunch periods — the FD Partner is expected to contribute code, configuration, and documentation when delivery velocity demands it.

Business & Value Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end business relationship for a portfolio of Palantir use cases across one or more pillars (e.g., Agentic Automation, Premium Placement, Claims/Losses).
  • Lead use case ideation and qualification, guiding stakeholders through the Value Case process including KPI selection, baseline establishment, and DCF / ROI framing.
  • Drive alignment on use case type (Prototype, Tactical, Strategic) and ensure all required documentation, sponsorship, and milestones are in place per the CoE delivery framework.
  • Own the Prototype Value Realization Checkpoint and Recurring Value Realization cycles — presenting Go/No-Go recommendations to executive sponsors with supporting data.

Program & Team Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate pod delivery — providing technical direction to FD Delta, sustainability guidance to FD Echo, and ensuring clean handoffs at each stage.
  • Facilitate and escalate tie-break decisions per the CoE framework (Speed to Deliver, ROI/Cost, Business Preference, External Preference) when competing priorities arise.
  • Serve as the communication bridge between business leadership and the CoE — absorbing escalations upward and preventing leadership friction from permeating to delivery teams.
  • Champion adoption and change management for productionalized capabilities, combining technical authority with business credibility to drive user uptake.

Required Skills & Competencies

Palantir Platform Proficiency (Required — Not Optional)

  • Hands-on proficiency with Palantir Foundry: Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Ontology (objects, links, Action Types, Functions), Workshop, and OSDK
  • Practical experience with AIP: Agent Studio, Logic, Evals, and Observability tooling — able to design, build, and debug agentic workflows
  • Strong Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL skills — the FD Partner writes production code, not just reviews it
  • Familiarity with RAG architectures, human-in-the-loop model patterns, and data science concepts as applied within the Palantir ecosystem

Business Value Layer

  • Strong business acumen — able to engage credibly with senior insurance, finance, and operations leaders on value, process, and strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to own use case strategy end-to-end: from hypothesis and value case through delivery, adoption, and value realization
  • Stakeholder leadership — able to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and influence without authority at all levels of the organization

Experience

  • 6–10+ years of experience — ideally spanning both hands-on technical delivery and business-facing roles; Palantir FDE or equivalent forward-deployed engineering background is highly valued
  • Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related business field
  • Optional: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
