Formulation Supervisor

Eureka! is a subsidiary of the Elders Group manufacturer and developer of specialty agricultural chemicals.  It has a higher degree of innovation than similar companies which means a continuous supply of novel products being introduced into the production mix.  It has well trained operators and support staff who work to well-designed protocols and operating procedures.  

The company has two sites with an herbicide factory in Sunshine West and an insecticide and fungicide factory in Altona.  The factories produce liquid and granular products.  Each factory is well equipped for operator safety and environmental protection and pass regular site reviews by multinational companies.

We are looking for a Formulation Supervisor to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
 

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Site Manager

  • Adhere to workplace safety procedures and lead by example regarding safety.
  • Ensure the accurate, safe and efficient production of whatever individual product that they have been allotted to personally make.  It is expected that this position will make various products, moving between several, individual plants as required and occasionally between factory sites. 
  • Be responsible for informing management and storeman of pending raw materials and packaging shortages for the plant in which they are working.
  • Be responsible for the day to day, on floor supervision of factory staff working on the same site.  This will regularly include setting up the daily jobs and undertaking toolbox meetings for the shift that they are working and, as required and the adjacent shift.
  • Be responsible for supporting the Site Manager and the Production Manager in the delivery of their production metrics and taking on additional responsibilities when the Site Manager is off site.
  • Work to become competent in the operations and equipment of all plants on the Herbicide Factory Site and have a clear understanding of handling dangerous goods.
  • Be responsible for supporting the roll out of improved procedures and for ensuring that staff adopt and continue to adhere to procedures.
  • Supervise staff with safety, equipment operations, punctuality, and support team spirit.

  • Have car & forklift licenses.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow in your role.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Exhibit well-developed planning and organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to address challenges effectively.
