Major Duties:
- The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is searching for a Foreign SSA-Sensors Principal Intelligence Analyst (GG-0132-14) Description: The Foreign Space Situational Awareness Sensors Flight, part of the 2nd Intelligence Analysis Squadron within the National Space Intelligence Center, is actively seeking a qualified expert to lead production of technical intelligence of foreign terrestrial sensors that search the sky for satellites, chart their orbits, and determine the function and operational status of satellites. Sensors include radar, optics, laser, signals, and various space-based capabilities, which work independently and as a network to allow foreign countries to monitor and target satellites. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will be expected to serve as a national expert on Space Situational Awareness (SSA) intelligence within NSIC and the Intelligence Community, and provide technical leadership to flight analysts, advise management on project assignment and mentor analysts. Provide quality assurance and oversight of analysts performing independent research and analysis on multi-source intelligence information on foreign SSA systems and subsystems (and related facilities) research, development, design, testing, operations, plans and objectives which are indicative of counterspace programs. This position requires advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology of foreign counterspace sensors gained through job experience (or equivalent educational experience and training) to permit independent determination of the characteristics of foreign space Situational awareness sensors targeted against US space operations and the production of intelligence assessments. Must have knowledge of concepts and capabilities of foreign space Situational awareness systems and subsystems. Requires skill in applying knowledge of foreign counterspace capabilities to impact US satellites and supporting infrastructure. Must have a firm knowledge of the organization, mission, and function of the US intelligence community. Candidate must understand the process to identify intelligence gaps and plan multi-source information-gathering strategies to substantiate new, accurate, and tailored counterspace intelligence assessments of space situational awareness systems and subsystems. Must have effective writing and oral communication skills to prepare finished intelligence reports and present briefings. A bachelor's degree, coursework, or professional training in strategic intelligence, space studies, physics, mathematics, or engineering studies is highly desired.
