Job Summary

Food in Greater Asia is a proud, successful, and fast-growing business. Foods Biggest markets in the region are Philippines, followed by Thailand and Vietnam.
The product core portfolio consists mainly of cooking aids, either as cube, powder or granule, Mayonnaise, Spreads and Dressings, Soups, Meal makers, Cooking Sauces, Ready to Eat Mini Meals, as well as other formats under local jewels.

The key task is to enable the profitable growth of the core by maintaining holistic product superiority, while at same time stretching into new, faster growing markets segments to create a base for superior future core.

Responsibilities

As the Consumer Technical Insights, you will be working within multi-disciplinary project teams to provide consumer and sensory insights that ensure the delivery of outstanding innovations & renovations focused on solving consumers' problems and providing superior solutions.

  • Be the guardian of consumer insights and requirements - meaning to proactively bring in consumer insights and requirements and convert them into R&D actions and deliverables.
  • Partnering seamlessly with CMI to deliver consumer, market and product insights help guiding project teams to consumer pains and gains and build superior solutions to the problems identified, with clearly identified technical requirements and attributes.
  • In collaboration with CMI and RD, designing and implementing E2E consumer research to assess the performance of product/pack prototypes on the key attributes/benefits of the brand concept.
  • Designing of sensory measurement studies to provide objective quantitative measures of product/pack attributes against technical targets and competitor benchmarks.
  • Providing robust data from consumer research or sensory measurements to support patents and claims to make a compelling story.    
  • Keeping abreast of internal and external developments in consumer research techniques and sensory evaluation methodology and applying knowledge within innovation projects to enhance decision making.
  • Support experimental design and statistical analyses to maximise the quality of consumer and sensory research.
  • CTI researchers are required to lead all activities with minimum line manager’s supervision. This includes also challenging and clarifying briefs as necessary to ensure right things to do and identifying end-to-end plan for each.
  • CTI researchers are responsible for making sure that data, reports, documents are stored and easily accessible by all relevant parties.
  • CTI researchers will have contact with stakeholders both inside and outside of RD on a regular basis.
  • Having full knowledge of professional codes of conduct (ethics, data protection laws etc.) and ensuring that all our research practices adhere to these, including full compliance with safety and ethical standards for product testing.

Requirements

  • At least bachelor’s degree in science, consumer science, sensory science, marketing
  • An experience in an FMCG company consumer insight role (CTI, CMI) or Market Research agency is a plus
  • High English proficiency (read, write, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills)
  • Fully operational in consumer and sensory research techniques (qual and quant).
  • Good management skills, good teamwork attitude, good interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Experience within Food and Refreshment categories with proven track record within R&D is desirable. 
  • Passion to combine science, sensory and consumer science / insights to drive innovation and claims, as well as product development skills and data science skills to help bring products to launch.
