Job Summary: Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is located at Naval Station Everett Food & Beverage. *Bi-weekly review of applicants*

Major Duties:

  • Prepares and bakes a variety of pizzas from prepared ingredients, selecting the correct amount of each ingredient for the pizza ordered, arranging and layering the ingredients as shown. Prepared sandwiches, including Italian sausage, meatball and submarines. Performs tasks such as grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, french fries, etc., by watching while the items are cooking, turning as required; regulating temperature and removing when done. Packages prepared food for off-premise consumption or serves for on premise consumption. Operates and uses bake and holding ovens, pizza makers, slicers, fryers and miscellaneous kitchen utensils. Rings up sales on a point of sale system and provides guest with receipts. Maintains concept environment, equipment, utensils and surfaces in a sanitary clean and neat condition. In food preparation or food beverage service areas: Scrapes and pre-rinses dishes, glasses and flatware for washing. Separates food waste and trash. Loads dishes into dishwasher; hand washes dishes. Stacks and stores clean dishes. Scrapes, cleans, scrubs, washes or wipes ranges, ovens, fryers and urns. Cuts, scrapes, chops, dices or peels fruit and vegetables. Removes soiled dishes, glasses and flatware from tables and carries to the dish washing area. Cleans tables or paper, other trash or soiled linens and wipes table clean. Performs other duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate possesses the following: Understanding of basic food handling techniques Ability to follow oral directions and routine manual tasks involving a few steps Must have understanding of personal hygiene standards such as wearing a hairnet and washing hands before touching food and not touching rims of cups/glasses Ability to read and understand written instructions and material such as schedules, menus, and recipes Must have the ability to work safely by moving carts without running into things, stacking dishes without mishaps, and wiping up spilled foods and liquids to prevent falls Knowledge of basic arithmetic may be necessary
