ChristianaCare is seeking a Catering Service Assistant to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. In this role, you’ll be the face of our catering services—delivering delicious meals, setting up professional presentations, and ensuring every detail exceeds expectations.

Position: Food Service Assistant I – Catering

Location: Wilmington Hospital
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (subject to change based on department needs)
Rotation: Weekend and holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, set up, and deliver catering services to designated locations
• Prepare coffee, beverages, salads, sandwiches, and boxed meals
• Ensure timely and professional food and beverage setup
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and equipment
• Communicate with customers to confirm service needs and resolve concerns
• Finalize catering invoices and assist with inventory stocking
• Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow infection prevention and food safety protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (or currently enrolled)
• Minimum 1 year of catering or food service experience preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and teamwork

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
