Overview of Position:

Responsible for the various jobs and duties required to operate the Food & Nutrition department, including the safe preparation, cooking, serving and delivery of food to our patients, guests, and coworkers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1.Follows all food and environmental safety precautions per local and state guidelines.
2. Can safely and effectively use all equipment that is utilized in various job duties.
3.    Follows proper cleaning/sanitizing procedures to ensure a safe environment for food production and service.
4.    Follows established procedures and standardized recipes for the prepping, cooking, assembling, and serving of food items to patients and retail customers.
5.    Follows safe and efficient methods of receiving, storing and rotating food supplies.
6.     May be required to work in various locations within the department including retail areas, dish room, patient tray line and tray delivery, call center, kitchen prep and production areas, etc.
7.    Participates in mandatory training programs, inservices, meetings, CBLs, etc.
8.    Treats patients, visitors and coworkers with the utmost respect and dignity according to the Genesis Mission and Values.
9.    Maintains privacy and confidentiality at all times, including adherence to all HIPAA laws.

QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Ability to communicate effectively verbally or in writing to assure job is completed (read and write).
2.    Good written and verbal skills.
3.    Good organizational skills.
4.    Ability to learn food safety and sanitation practices.

4.    Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
