The Opportunity:  

We are seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager, an exciting opportunity to be part of the team at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore 

 

This individual will plan, organize, control, and direct the work of employees in the Hotel’s Pool and rooftop food & beverage service while ensuring exceptional service and attention to our guests. This person will have strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills, is able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, and can evidence having a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service. Al fresco food and beverage enjoyment combines delightfully with a scenic rooftop atmosphere to provide an unparalleled experience for guests and residents alike. 

 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): 

Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Hotel’s Pool operation while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Hotel’s Pool to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for outlet operation.  The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.

Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in a Pool environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience for lunch and cocktails.

Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.  Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.  Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed. 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills: 

  • High School or college degree preferred 

  • 1-2 years food and beverage serving and/or related food and beverage experience in a high-volume upscale resort 

  • Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in F&B, labor controls, menu writing, maintenance, merchandising and accounting 

  • Ability to work inside and outside while servicing the Pool area. Subject to all weather conditions including sun, wind, and rain 

  • Food and beverage knowledge a must         

  • A sincere willingness to provide service to residents, guests, and peers 

  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work with teams all around the hotel 

  • Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions 

  • High work ethic, with a sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team 

  • Knowledge of Baltimore and surrounding areas, highly desirable, however not required 

  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort 

  • Must be flexible with schedule- Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays shifts 

  • Strong oral presentation skills  

  • Ability to carry and balance a tray. Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions 

  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests 

  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
