Job Description

The Financial Management Program (FMP) is a two-year, early-career leadership development program designed to develop future finance leaders within the organization. Originally established in the United States in the 1910s, the FMP has a history of more than 100 years and is one of the most long-standing and prestigious talent development programs within GE.

The program brings together newly graduated and early-career finance professionals selected from around the world. Through six-to-eight-month rotational assignments for 24 months and a structured training curriculum, participants gain broad hands-on experience across finance functions and develop strong business and leadership skills, preparing them to become future business leaders of the company.

Each rotation is conducted across different business units, allowing participants to build strong finance and accounting expertise while delivering results in diverse environments and working with a wide range of stakeholders. Through these experiences, FMP participants are expected to develop into agile, execution-oriented finance leaders who can perform effectively in dynamic and fast-changing business environments.

With a strong focus on practical, hands-on challenges, participants take ownership of meaningful responsibilities such as budget planning, performance analysis, financial reporting, and cost improvement initiatives. From an early stage in their careers, participants also gain exposure to senior leadership by preparing materials and delivering presentations for management, developing leadership skills while directly contributing to the business.

In addition to on-the-job learning, the program offers a structured training framework, including regular finance, accounting, and business skills training sessions throughout the rotations. Each participant is further supported by experienced finance leaders who serve as mentors during the program, providing continuous feedback and career development discussions to support individual growth.
