The team
Financial Markets CoE Regulatory acts as the Financial Markets (FM) front office single point of access for all Non-Financial Risk related topics. As a key player within the NFR pillar, you’ll help shape ING’s risk profile by driving first-line risk management activities and tracking critical NFR KPI’s. You’ll collaborate closely with Financial Markets front office colleagues and align with stakeholders across all three lines of defence. Your work will directly support regulatory readiness, operational efficiency, and control optimization. FM NFR & Control is part of the Global FM CoE Regulatory team and has a global span.
The CoE is organised around 3 expertises:
1. Regulatory (Outlook, advice (including external advocacy) and implementation)
2. Non-Financial Risk and Control
3. Data management

Roles and responsibilities
The specific responsibilities will include executing all supporting facets of Non-Financial Risk Management and being a trusted advisor and providing guidance to the Financial Markets Front Office organization, including but not limited to:
- Assists senior team members with timely and accurate risk identification and assessments. Helps spot relevant risks, gathers insights through desk research, and contributes to planning and organizing risk workshops.
- Helps ensure events are reported correctly and on time. Handles event registration, supports root cause analysis, and contributes to capturing lessons learned for FM, working closely with colleagues as part of a shared responsibility.
- Works with senior colleagues to ensure key controls are identified and monitored accurately and on time. Assists in executing and evaluating controls across FM frameworks, helps spot new controls based on recent events and issues, and supports the rollout of updated or new frameworks.
- You’ll help ensure smooth resolution while maintaining quality and consistency by supporting accurate and timely issue management by coordinating the closure process for low issues. You support senior colleagues on issues of a higher complexity.
- Ensures smooth and accurate execution of data quality tasks for Global FM. Maintains oversight of iRisk data to safeguard the FM risk profile and actively coordinates data quality efforts across the team to keep standards high and risks low.
- Help drive global risk awareness by supporting senior colleagues on crafting clear messages, designing impactful presentations, and supporting engaging trainings.
- You’ll help build a culture of operational excellence by:
- Staying sharp and proactive, keeping up with key policies (Risk, Legal, etc.) and making sure the right protocols are in place and followed.
- Championing a strong Risk Culture across Financial Markets, inspiring others to do the same.
- Driving change by supporting strategic initiatives and transformation projects that elevate our control environment.

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Accountancy, or a related field, preferably with added value from certifications in Banking. Brings 5 years of banking experience, experience in Non-Financial Risk across on or multiple of the three lines of defense is a bonus.

- Gaining experience in identifying and assessing Non-Financial Risks, with some exposure to Financial Markets or Wholesale Banking. Familiar with ING policies and reporting standards and learning to manage deliverables with care and consistency.
- Comfortable working with stakeholders and helping translate risk topics into practical actions. Fluent in English and Dutch, with solid Microsoft Office skills and experience working in deadline-driven settings.
