Compensation: $23.86-$23.86 per hour

Tessera is seeking a dedicated and professional Floor Crew member with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Carpet spotting – spot clean heavily soiled carpet prior to shampooing.
  • Carpet shampooing – operate the industrial carpet cleaner to shampoo carpets according to the schedule.
  • Sweeping – sweep each area according to schedule.
  • Vacuuming – vacuum each area according to the schedule.
  • Wet/dry vacuum – operate the wet/dry vacuum for each area according to the schedule.
  • Wet/dry mopping – wet/dry mop each area according to the schedule.
  • Strip wax from floors – apply stripping solution either manually or with floor care equipment to remove old wax for each area according to schedule.
  • Wax floors- apply new floor wax for each area either manually or with floor care equipment, according to schedule.
  • Recondition Floor- sweep the floor or vacuum before applying the solution. Operate the equipment to remove dirt, making the floor clean and shiny. After buffing the floor, sweep all the debris and dirt according to the schedule.
  • Scrub Restroom- apply stripping solution on the floor to remove the bad smells and dirt, manually or with floor care equipment, according to schedule.
  • Mix Chemicals – Follow chemical instructions before use.
  • Fill and empty mop buckets – clean mop buckets after use.
  • Clean and put away equipment after use.
  • Interpret building maps.
  • Interpret the schedule.
  • Prepare an inventory of floor care products and report deficiencies to management.
  • Inspect and maintain floor equipment, and report deficiencies to management.

Qualifications: 

  • One year of experience in custodial work preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, work well with others, and understand and follow instructions.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift, including holidays and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
