Leveraging its strengths in large-scale fleet management, Avis Budget Group has entered into a strategic partnership with a leader in self-driving technology to launch and scale a fully autonomous ride-hailing service. 
 

As a Fleet Coordinator, Autonomous Ride Hail Vehicles (“AV”), you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and organized flow of autonomous vehicles throughout the depot. This role reports directly to the Manager, Depot Operations and focuses on vehicle movement, charging coordination, service readiness, and daily fleet optimization. 

  

What You’ll Do 

  • Assign and direct movement of AVs to ensure efficient traffic flow across the depot 

  • In coordination with the Manager, Depot Operations, assign work to fleet associates and monitor progress toward completion 

  • Identify, document, and escalate operational issues through appropriate ticketing channels 

  • Coordinate staging for charging, maintenance, cleaning, and calibration to maintain operational readiness 

  • Move and position AVs for deployment into Rider-Only Commercial Service as scheduled 

  • Review dashboard metrics and operational data to make effective fleet coordination decisions 

  • Track and record vehicle locations using fleet management tools to maintain asset visibility 

  • Conduct pre-deployment inspections and verify vehicles meet safety and operational checklist requirements 

  • Coordinate vehicles requiring calibration or hardware verification with technical teams 

  • Collaborate with fleet team members to resolve alerts and maintain continuous service availability 

  • Manage charging procedures, including plugging and unplugging AVs according to operational timelines 

  • Monitor charger performance and report equipment issues promptly 

  • Handle, transport, and secure equipment in accordance with security standards 

  • Maintain organized work areas and uphold depot cleanliness standards 

  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed consistently

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Associate’s degree required 

  • 1+ year of progressive experience in fleet operations, automotive service, or vehicle logistics 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel 

  • Comfortable using mobile and computer-based fleet management systems 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and procedural accuracy 

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment 

  • Valid Driver’s License and authorization to work in the United States 

  • Successful completion of pre-employment qualification checks 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and operations teams 

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, nights, or weekends as business needs require 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for up to 8 hours and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with assistance 

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environments 

  • This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
