About the role
Lead fire safety compliance across St Vincent’s facilities, managing audits, risk assessments, and adherence to NSW Health guidelines.
Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff, contractors, and committees on fire prevention, WHS, and emergency response.
Oversee maintenance, inspections, and management of fire systems, detection, alarms, and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, including Fire & Rescue NSW, to support emergency planning and incident response.
Drive continuous improvement by investigating incidents, implementing corrective actions, and updating procedures, policies, and business continuity plans.
About you
Strong background in fire compliance and safety across large building portfolios, with practical experience managing Hot Works, system isolations and key fire safety operations.
Solid knowledge of fire prevention systems and legislation, ensuring all activities meet required standards and regulatory expectations.
Proven ability to create effective Fire Safety Plans, evacuation procedures and emergency training that keep people safe and prepared.
Backed by relevant tertiary qualifications (Fire Safety, Engineering or Risk) and hands-on experience managing contractors to keep fire protection systems fully compliant and functional.
Confident communicator with polished written skills, strong MS Office capability, and professional membership with recognised fire safety bodies (GIFireE or equivalent).
