About the role

  • Lead fire safety compliance across St Vincent’s facilities, managing audits, risk assessments, and adherence to NSW Health guidelines.

  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff, contractors, and committees on fire prevention, WHS, and emergency response.

  • Oversee maintenance, inspections, and management of fire systems, detection, alarms, and equipment to ensure a safe environment.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, including Fire & Rescue NSW, to support emergency planning and incident response.

  • Drive continuous improvement by investigating incidents, implementing corrective actions, and updating procedures, policies, and business continuity plans.

About you

  • Strong background in fire compliance and safety across large building portfolios, with practical experience managing Hot Works, system isolations and key fire safety operations.

  • Solid knowledge of fire prevention systems and legislation, ensuring all activities meet required standards and regulatory expectations.

  • Proven ability to create effective Fire Safety Plans, evacuation procedures and emergency training that keep people safe and prepared.

  • Backed by relevant tertiary qualifications (Fire Safety, Engineering or Risk) and hands-on experience managing contractors to keep fire protection systems fully compliant and functional.

  • Confident communicator with polished written skills, strong MS Office capability, and professional membership with recognised fire safety bodies (GIFireE or equivalent).
