Boeing is looking for an experienced and motivated Fire Protection Operations Specialist to join a team of experts focused on supporting the mission to protect company people, property, and information. You will utilize standard processes, tools, and templates required to enable a compliant and robust program. The primary focus of the program is to enable effective preparation for and efficient response to emergencies and disasters to save lives and reduce property loss.
Position Responsibilities:
Uses knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation
Uses knowledge of emergent and urgent care, such as; cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, major trauma, toxic exposure, major burns or other life-threatening conditions
Uses knowledge of techniques to help identify a customer's organization, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, problems, and other constraints to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution
Delivers fire department emergency response services according to established standards, contractual requirements and protocols (e.g. to include, but not limited to structural firefighting, aircraft firefighting, technical rescue, hazardous material response)
Delivers fire prevention services according to established codes, standards, company procedures and contractual requirements (e.g. to include, but not limited to hot work permits, confined space operations, hazardous operations, code research and inspections)
Gathers, retains, and recalls a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form for the achievement of work tasks and duties
Supports, leads, and delegates the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle
Utilizes technological tools (e.g., PC's, web sites) and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data relevant to workloads, responsibilities, problem identifications and resolutions
Operates relevant personal computing hardware (e.g., personal computers, software, printers, storage media) and standard software (e.g., word processing, graphics packages, spreadsheets/databases)
Uses knowledge of medical confidentiality policies and regulations, which may include Custody and Control of Employee Medical Records Company-wide Procedure, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine guidelines, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Uses knowledge of accident/incident prevention and environmental protection tools, program elements and tactics (e.g., risk control plans, incident reports and reporting system, job safety analysis, environmental tip sheets, HAZCOM information sheets, etc.) to effectively deploy EHS programs within area of influence
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Current National Registry or South Carolina State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
State, IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter 1 Certification
State, IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter 2 Certification
Current valid driver’s license
Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
5+ years of experience with building and fire codes, modern fire prevention principles, procedures and equipment
Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) Certification
Fire Inspector I (CFI-I) Certification
