This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies; and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings
Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place
Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code
Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
Protect and maintain company equipment
Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary
Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, following all safety regulations and manufacturer instructions
Work in accordance with company safety procedures, including driver safety and proper use of PPE
Respond to emergency service calls
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Perform other duties assigned by management
Education/Qualification
A high school education or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with fire extinguishers and related life-safety equipment
Experience with NFPA 10 and NFPA 17A required
Knowledge of NFPA standards preferred
Troubleshooting skills
Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site
Must be flexible with scheduling, including occasional evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments
Knowledge of principles and practices of life safety
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and the ability to interpret, apply, and explain them
Ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
Other Duties

Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift/move heavy objects
Requires physical abilities such as balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity
