The Portables Support Technician is a responsible for assisting in the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire protection equipment. This position is designed to provide hands-on training under direct supervision. The role will support experienced team members while learning applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices related to fire and life safety systems.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
No minimum experience required.
Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Ability to work in various environments including commercial, industrial, and construction settings.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
Pay Rate:
$20 to $22 hourly based on experience.
