Job Summary
The Marathon Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility located in Martinez, CA is seeking an experienced Fire Chief to support the development, maintenance and execution of facility emergency response plans and programs.
The available schedules for the position are 9/80 or 5/40, after hours calls are required once a week that can be handled over the phone and support of TAR once a year. Current Core business hours are: 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support development, maintenance, and execution of facility emergency response plans and programs.
2. Develop facility fire and emergency responses programs and provides direct leadership of fire brigade and operations emergency response measures during an incident.
3. Oversee facility emergency response equipment and maintenance in compliance with regulations and MPC’s mechanical integrity programs.
4. Build and maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies including local mutual aid partners.
5. Develop and maintain facility fire prevention and response programs and conducts exercises to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
6. Develop and maintain emergency response team training program that ensures competence as defined under National Fire Protection Association.
7. Provide subject matter expertise in Fire Safety, Emergency Response and Preparedness for the facility
Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a High School diploma or GED with minimum 7 years relevant experience such as fire brigade OR Bachelor’s degree in HES, Emergency Response or other related degree with minimum 4 years relevant experience such as fire brigade.
Must have detailed knowledge and experience implementing the Incident Command System. Must be able to train, serve and advise multiple positions within the Command System.
Must have experience with facilitation or support of Exercise Design and Execution at Tiers 1 and 2 levels of IMT management.
Must have experience with Emergency Preparedness compliance tasks management for multiple regional Federal and State agencies.
Must be able to lead basic emergency response initiatives.
Must have experience with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Command System 400.
Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
Must have a valid driver’s license. (MPC determines valid status.)
Must be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
Travel Requirement is 5% or less.
