What you will do:
Organizes and plans own workload and additionally works with other design teams when required.
Prepares fully detailed technical submissions that include complete detailed schematics & drawings that meet the design criteria.
Performs routine reviews of initial designs of low complexity to provide value engineered/code compliant solutions where required.
Coordinates with CAD Support Technicians to prepare complete project submissions for lower complexity, small to medium size systems including: detailed system operation, drawings, and calculations.
Completes detailed calculations to verify system design meets code and standard requirements.
Participates in pre/post project design meetings and attends customer/site coordination meetings, as applicable.
Develops bill of materials to facilitate construction.
Reviews completed submission for equipment application, equipment compatibility, and compliance with specifications and scope.
Contributes project support for project managers once orders have been received to assist in maintaining and/or improving project margins.
Provides answers to questions from customers, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction as they arise.
Collaborates with the Project Manager during system commissioning to verify system performance against the design.
Supports field technical staff and subcontractors with technical support and design inquiries.
Provides pre-sales estimate support to the sales and project management teams.
Coordinates with CAD Support Technicians to create as-built and operation manual documentation.
Performs the duties of a CAD person on assigned projects, as required, if a CAD person is not available to fulfill those duties.
Directs, supports, and reviews work product provided by CAD Support Technicians.
Ensures all time is properly coded to projects and are within originally estimated hours sold on the projects.
What we look for
Required
A Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in design of Fire Alarm systems.
NICET Certification Level I
High school degree or equivalent required.
Ability to use AutoCAD for drafting/CAD
Proficient in reading and understanding architectural and electrical diagrams.
Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including, Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Adobe
Effective written and oral communications
Ability to acquire appropriate licenses required by national, state and local codes.
Ability to work a full-time schedule
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Associates Degree in Electronic Systems
Experience in Fire Alarm and Construction Industry.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $63,000- 93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
