Major Duties:

  • Provides operation support entailing daily review and resolutions of issues and problems.
  • Ensures enhancements are implemented for effective and efficient operational deployment.
  • Monitors core system functionality cubes to confirm the integrity of overnight refresh, generated reports, and response times.
  • Monitors emergency and regular system releases, software updates and system software upgrades, end of year processing, system diagnostics, and corrective actions regarding user connectivity problems and response times.
  • Performs trend analysis to identify problems which occur most frequently.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. To be hired at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-9 if applying at the GS-11 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as: troubleshooting system and data issues by constructing queries in relational databases and examining system behavior; understanding operational business processes sufficiently to confirm system non-compliance due to changes in financial or budgetary policies, regulations, and objectives; and providing high-level financial systems expertise to leadership to help carry out financial missions with allocated resources. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher in the Federal service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
