Financial Specialist I - Supplier Onboarding

Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercialises innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. The GFS in Cork, located in Little Island, was established in 2009 and has evolved from a transactional based model to a Value add with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement within a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Reporting to the Supplier Management Lead, you will oversee day-to-day operations of the supplier onboarding  and maintenance Cork

This role is within the STS (Source to Settle) department providing support for a group of markets in the international organisation, this position will be responsible for supporting the operational processes for onboarding global suppliers whilst adhering to compliance policy

Job Requirements

  • Customer Service - Build relationships with key points of contact within the Financial Shared Service organisation and markets across the processes and other functions to maintain an understanding of the process.

  • Continuous Improvement - Identify problem areas in the process and work with the team to generate solutions.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Daily monitoring and resolution of supplier related requests through our ticketing system while maintaining a high level of customer service.

  • Maintain Supplier records in line with the related policies

  • Drive adoption of our self-service model in SAP/Ariba while ensuring data quality is maintained.

  • Provide high level support and guidance to end users.

  • Collaborate within the GFS Teams including RTR and various other impacted business units.

  • Achieve targets for high performance such as meet or exceed Service Level Agreements.

  • Work with Finance Supervisor and appointed project leads to deliver on STS operational and project objectives as required.

  • Meet or exceed individual productivity targets.

  • Ensure that training and development objectives are met.

  • Contribute to the development of the Financial Shared Services culture to attain desired goals which will include efficiency and effectiveness targets.

  • Collate and provide information for KPIs.

  • Ensure SOX controls are embedded in processes.

  • Assist in setting performance measurement procedures for processes.

  • Cover for other team members as directed by manager.

  • Ad hoc duties as directed by manager.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant experience working in an STS department of a multinational or global Finance organization

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Accounting Technician or relevant finance/accounting qualification

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required

  • Good knowledge of SAP or similar integrated ERP

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
