Job Description

As a Financial Reporting Analyst with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details

  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.

  • Support the Central Accounting and Reporting (CAR) team

  • Salary up to: $68,600 based on education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the preparation of the State’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

  • Communicates with agencies to obtain financial information

  • Instructs and assists agencies with the completion of GAAP conversion packages.

  • Revises and updates state agency conversion packages annually, as needed.

  • Contributes to the review and analysis of the State's accounting policies and procedure and makes recommendations for appropriate changes.

  • Serves as a liaison to State Auditor & Inspector agency personnel

  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports submitted by agencies to ensure compliance

  • Ad hoc projects, analyses, and reporting as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

  • CPA certification

  • CPA candidate

  • Governmental accounting experience, understanding of governmental accounting standards board (GASB), and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governments

  • Experience working with general ledger and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
