About the role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and commercially savvy Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join our high performing finance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping business decisions through insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting.
As the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst you will provide expert financial analytics and technical insights into business activities across the University Group and perform financial planning and analytics activities for an allocated stakeholder group.
What you will do
Support the Finance Business Partner across various business units.
Lead the FPA activities including reviewing month end, analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
Provide commentary and support the Finance Business Partner in providing strategic recommendations.
Support the implementation of change initiative and process improvements across systems and reporting.
You will be part of Group Finance and will be responsible for providing a broad range of financial services to support the University’s core mission of teaching and research. Group Finance is organised into the following functional areas: Finance Shared Services, Financial Operations, Financial Performance and Business Partnering and Financial Control, Tax and Treasury.
About you
You have expertise in conducting research and analysis with a commercial focus, within a large organisation with complex accounting and reporting requirements.
You are an excellent communicator, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. You build and maintain good, respectful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, consistently demonstrating professionalism and a collaborative mindset to achieve shared outcomes.
Selection Criteria
Relevant experience in accounting, finance, or equivalent
Good understanding of financial modelling and scenario analyses
Strong experience in forecasting financials, budget preparation and financial modelling to produce business models.
Business Intelligence systems and reporting platforms skills e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos TM1, Calumo.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
Strong experience working with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (preferably FinanceOne).
