The Opportunity
This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Core Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
This position is critical and supports the Divisional Vice President of Global Service, Area Service Directors and other members of the organization. The Manager will lead the forecasting processes, provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analytics and ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial information.
What You’ll Work On
- Prepare financial forecasts for HQ Service organization
- Coordinate and consolidate the Global Service financial forecasts and analytics
- Manage month-end close process and reporting of monthly financial results
- Develop and maintain financial models and analysis
- Provide strategic financial support, including financial modeling and analysis for ongoing key business initiatives and strategic projects
- Assist with preparation of financial presentations and KPIs to be shared with senior leaders within the organization
- Provide financial guidance to budget managers, including providing financial guidance for capital projects
- Create sustainable and efficient FP&A processes leading to ongoing process improvements
- Ensure compliance with financial policies
- Manage, coach and develop staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of combined experience in accounting or financial planning and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and application of financial planning and accounting concepts, procedures and practices.
- Candidate must possess strong technical skills (e.g. Excel, Power Point) with ability to learn systems quickly. Experience with SAP, TM1 and HFM is preferred.
- Ability to apply professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems and exercise independent decision making.
- Requires strong analytical skills and modeling skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with various levels of personnel, including senior management.
- Strong organizational skills, self-starter, with ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment highly preferred.
