In our Finance division, caregivers use their knowledge and skill every day to provide exceptional experiences for patients and their families. As a Financial Navigator, you will meet with patients to review financial responsibility and develop a plan to coordinate resources to supplement patients’ out of pocket expenses.
A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am—4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Promote an integrated/coordinate approach to managing the continuum of care and financial obligations for the patient and their family members.
Serve as a liaison to patients with internal and external resources for co-pay assistance, drug replacement, financial assistance and psychosocial assistance.
Develop standard operating procedures to guide and build a program that effectively supports the care and financial responsibility of patients.
Implement new processes to guide patients to the appropriate resources and support services.
Meet new patients to the Institute, promoting available programs and services.
Educate patients on availability of Patient Assistance Programs.
Identify, evaluate, and resolve cancer patient complaints.
Assess eligibility and assist self-pay and under-insured patients with Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) for free drug, replacement drug and copay assistance.
Coordinate with clinical teams and social workers in identifying eligible patients and obtaining information and documentation for them.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’s degree in finance, business or a related field
Three years of related experience in a healthcare environment or medical office setting with diverse patient/culture populations
Experience with computers and navigating multiple systems simultaneously
Knowledge of insurance coverage, limitations, requirements, eligibility, pharmacy formulary, prior authorization, coordination of benefits, diagnosis codes, billing and collecting
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s degree
Additional progressively responsible experience may substitute the education requirement
