Moneycare supports people through some of the most challenging moments of their financial journey. We walk alongside community members as they build confidence, stability and long-term financial capability. This role is about strengthening wellbeing, restoring dignity and helping people feel more in control of their future. It’s meaningful work that creates real change in the lives of individuals, families and the wider community.
This is a unique opportunity to be the local face of Moneycare in Karratha. Under our revised service model, you will be the on-the-ground presence supporting community members right where they are. You’ll work closely with our Financial Counsellor based in Morley, attending appointments with community members when needed and providing practical, relational support that helps people feel heard, supported and empowered.
Your days will be varied and deeply connected to the community — from helping someone prepare for their first Financial Counselling appointment, to delivering financial literacy workshops, to supporting people to navigate services and strengthen their financial wellbeing. This permanent part-time position within the Moneycare Western Australia team, reporting to the WA State Manager. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 3.
Provide individual budgeting support and capability-building activities
Support community members to prepare for and attend Financial Counselling appointments
Deliver financial literacy education and community workshops
Conduct ongoing assessment of needs from first contact to exit
Support people to access other services and community supports
Maintain accurate records and data in SAMIS
Participate in team meetings, supervision and professional development
Contribute to a positive, collaborative and culturally safe team environment
Promote dignity, choice and self-determination in every interaction
Cert IV in Community Services or related field, or willingness to obtain
Financial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtain
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
Understanding of local Aboriginal communities and culture
Strong communication skills, including working with people who may not have English as a first language
Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated money management and negotiation skills
A person-centred, relational and strengths-based approach
