Role Description
- As a Vice President and Regulatory Reporting Manager in our US CFO function in Mumbai, India, you will be a senior leader responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of our US regulatory and financial reporting processes. The US CFO function oversees financial planning, forecasting, management and regulatory reporting, including CCAR, and ensures adherence to accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, HGB) policies, and regulatory requirements. You will lead the preparation, review, and submission of timely and accurate regulatory reports to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and other regulatory bodies, directly safeguarding the financial stability of Deutsche Bank USA and maintaining its license to operate. This role demands a highly experienced individual with a proven track record in complex regulatory environments and exceptional leadership skills. You will be instrumental in shaping our reporting infrastructure, driving automation through advanced data tools like SAP, Python, PowerQuery, and AI, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in a collaborative and global environment. Your key responsibilities
- Lead preparation, review, and submission of regulatory report filings with regulatory bodies, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, OCC, FDIC, SEC, and FINRA, overseeing a a part of the portfolio of over 100 regulatory reports with approximately 1000 submissions per annum. This includes internal reporting (balance sheet, P&L, US regional general ledger submissions) and external financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
- As a strategic partner, you will not only lead current reporting operations but also foresee future regulatory demands and proactively shape the reporting infrastructure to meet evolving requirements.
- Influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to drive consensus on complex regulatory interpretations and implementation approaches.
- Liaise with various internal (i.e. Regulatory Relations, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Finance Project Office, Business Operations) and external constituencies (i.e. regulators, external auditors, consultants) to ensure comprehensive oversight and compliance.
- Participate in bank examinations and internal and external audits.
- Lead preparation of US GAAP audited financial statements and disclosures for various US Deutsche Bank entities including the Broker-dealer, Intermediate Holding Company (IHC), and Bank entity.
- Contribute to the presentation of legal entity financial performance and metrics to the Board of Directors and various committees, including the audit committee.
- Lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals, focusing on cross-training, skill expansion, and career advancement opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders across different regions to ensure a seamless operating model in line with the Global strategy.
- Lead and contribute to continuous process improvement and automation, ensuring appropriate controls across all financial processes.
Your skills and experience
- 7+ years of regulatory reporting experience within Regulatory Reporting at a Global Investment Bank, with a track record of managing complex regulatory reporting functions for major financial institutions.
- In-depth understanding of banking regulatory reporting rules and regulations, including a comprehensive grasp of the regulatory landscape governed by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, OCC, FDIC, SEC, and FINRA.
- Ability to interpret ambiguous regulatory guidelines, resolve complex data discrepancies, and develop robust solutions for practices out of compliance.
- Expertise in tools like SAP, Python, PowerQuery, or similar advanced data analytics and reporting platforms is essential. A strong background in process optimization and re-design to help deliver innovative solutions.
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. Extensive external reporting of legal entity reporting experience required.
- An expert in US GAAP with knowledge of IFRS preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading significant change management initiatives within a regulatory reporting or finance context.
- Exceptional presentation skills, including influencing senior stakeholders across various functions and presenting complex financial data to executive leadership and board members.
- Experienced in communicating complex accounting matters both verbally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking - an ability to take a long-term view on shaping the department's strategic vision in a way that is consistent with the CFO and the Bank's broader strategic agenda.
