Financial Analyst

US-Remote Full time

POSITION PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst will work closely with Finance leaders and department managers to develop budgets and forecasts and evaluate financial performance across various areas of the organization. The Financial Analyst will support the FP&A team in providing reliable financial models, metrics and analytical reports utilizing various software systems to guide and support managers as they set and realize priorities and goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Finance leaders with annual budget and quarterly forecast processes by developing financial models, templates, reports and resources used to guide managers, member champions and senior leaders in building projections.

  • Support month-end financial statement reviews by developing and maintaining financial analytics, performance metrics, dashboards and communicating variance analysis conclusions and highlights.

  • Lead regular presentations of financial performance and forecast reviews with assigned budget owners of department programs, initiatives, meetings and global events. 

  • Partner with accounting team members to co-serve as Finance Business Partner of assigned departments or events; providing financial reports, analysis, advice, and accountability. Support managers with completing finance activities as appropriate and assigned.

  • Perform financial data mining, research, and system reconciliations which includes validation of data used for financial planning and analysis and resolution of any data inconsistencies.

  • Analyze events with hedge requirements and regularly reconcile currency balances to recommend purchase and sale of currency, as appropriate.

  • Serve as SME, system administrator, and resource support for FP&A and various integrated financial systems to achieve high system utilization of features for advanced reporting, analytics, and processes.

  • Approve invoice payments to ensure consistent coding and alignment with current forecast.

  • Partner with finance leaders on ad hoc financial analysis and projects.

  • Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and accounting.

  • Well-organized and structured thinker with the ability to drive to completion of multiple accounting/financial analysis/reporting projects.

  • Detail-oriented and able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from project management teams to senior management.

  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on proactivity, clarity, thoroughness, and diligence.

  • Ability to maintain discretion and integrity of confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to define, develop and sustain automated analytic metrics using a system such as Salesforce/Einstein Analytics or Workday Adaptive Planning Insights.

  • Ability to take initiative to solve problems independently with little guidance.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years prior work experience in finance and/or accounting.

  • 2+ years in business analysis or financial forecasting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with expert level in MS Excel.

  • Experience working in Workday Adaptive Planning, Salesforce, FinancialForce (Certinia) accounting system preferred but not required.

  • Experience in the annual budgeting and planning process for mid-scale to large organization.

  • Experience engaging with working with multiple stakeholders acting as SME for budget analysis.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.

  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5% per year.
