POSITION SUMMARY:
Based in Novi, MI, the Financial Analyst role is part of a team that is responsible for providing strategic financial and analytical leadership to drive actionable analysis within the organization. The role will primarily support the Global FP&A team and Investor Relations. The Financial Analyst will leverage their experience, and also learn in providing critical insights into financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the overall success of the organization while working under the Senior Analyst in the company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyze historical data, forecast future trends, and support decision-making processes while conducting scenario analyses and sensitivity testing to assess potential impacts on financial outcomes
- Support all areas of the forecasting and budgeting process, including, but not limited to: weekly flash, annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range plan processes
- Support in preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including quarterly board of directors material, investor presentations, forecast presentations, and monthly financial performance
- Analyze actual results versus budget/forecast and provide clear variance explanations
- Support operational and plant-level financial performance analysis, along with management of product line profitability processes
- Support the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, including updating financial models, assisting in the development of earnings presentations, and contributing to the drafting and review of the earnings press release to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging
- Coordinate with cross-functional Finance and Accounting teams to gather supporting documentation, validate key data points, and ensure alignment across internal and external reporting materials
- Assist in the preparation of Regulation G reconciliations in connection with earnings disclosures, ensuring adherence to SEC reporting requirements and company policies
- Perform detailed tie-outs of earnings materials to financial statements, internal reports, and supporting schedules to uphold strong internal controls and data integrity
- Conduct ongoing peer and customer analysis by monitoring public disclosures, earnings releases, and market developments; summarize key insights to support competitive benchmarking and strategic awareness
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency in company-wide financial analysis and reporting
- Utilize advanced data analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Finance and/or Accounting Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analytics tools
- Knowledge of financial systems and multidimensional databases preferred (JD Edwards, OneStream, Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to solve problems, escalate issues and manage multiple tasks
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Tools; PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas, results of financial analysis, and actionable recommendations
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Responsibly manages sensitive or confidential information
- Self-starter and ability to work independently on projects and tasks
- Strong oral and written presentation skills
