Financial Analyst

*PLEASE NOTE: This role requires the candidate to be in or near Charlotte, NC. In-office presence is required three days a week. Additionally, this position does not offer visa sponsorship.* 

Responsibilities: 

  • The Financial Analyst is tasked with ensuring the accuracy of monthly financial reports, facilitating and maintaining accurate real-time forecasts. This role also plays a crucial part in the annual planning process, maintaining long-term models, and generating relevant, actionable insights into ongoing business trends. 
  • Develops, enhances, and maintains financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts in support of various cost centers, including monthly headcount and expense reporting to provide clear visibility into operational costs and workforce planning. 
  • Responsible for preparing weekly reporting of performance and underlying business trends, as well as monthly headcount and expense summaries to track financial health and organizational growth. 
  • Supports business line management by assisting in the evaluation of new strategic initiatives, including financial modeling, due diligence, and the assessment of potential impacts on monthly expenses and workforce requirements. 
  • Utilizes the capabilities of the corporate data warehouse and the various software suites used throughout the Company to support monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis and reporting, with a specific focus on headcount and expense management. 

Experience / Training / Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related program is required. 
  • MBA preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, preferably with a public company, with a proven track record in managing headcount and expense reporting. 
  • Previous experience supporting Marketing and/or Product functions is highly desirable, with a focus on cost management and efficiency. 
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with particular emphasis on expense classification and headcount management. 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

  • Computer skills: Advanced MS Excel (with proficiency in managing spreadsheets for headcount and expense tracking), advanced MS PowerPoint, intermediate MS Word, intermediate MS Outlook, Hyperion Essbase. 
  • Excellent statistical analysis skills, with the ability to research and analyze various types of data, including headcount and financial expenditures. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction, particularly in relation to financial planning and cost management. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting and explaining complex headcount and expense reports to stakeholders. 
  • Ability to interpret and apply required policies and procedures, with a keen understanding of their implications on financial reporting and organizational budgeting.
