We’re looking for a Finance Analyst to join our FP&A team within the Markets business. This role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, and supporting month-end processes, with a view to developing deeper financial planning and analysis expertise.
You’ll report into the FP&A Manager and work closely with the Head of Finance - Markets and senior stakeholders across the business. This is a 12 month fixed term position within a growing team, offering exposure to the full suite of financial accounting and FP&A activities. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn on the go, gain experience beyond traditional accounting, and work alongside senior leaders.
The responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and provide input into the budgeting and forecasting processes, including managing ad-hoc requests and take ownership of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Maintain Excel forecast models and manage data inputs from various sources.
- Analyse monthly ledger data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Act as a point of contact for budget and forecast queries from the wider business.
- Assist with regional inputs for ExCo and stakeholder presentations.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis
- Support month-end tasks and queries from the Finance Control Team.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the Markets business.
What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:
- CA/CFA qualified or working towards it (preferred) with continuous improvement and growth mindset.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas (lookups, SUMIFS) and functions (charts, pivots); experience with Excel modelling is a plus.
- Proven analytical ability to interpret data and deliver meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
- Commercial mindset, proactive approach, and willingness to learn and think laterally.
- Background in public practice or corporate.
- Experience in a growth orientated environment.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple regions, including Australia and global teams.
- A proactive networker who can operate autonomously with logical decision-making skills.
