The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).
Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work 3 days in office at 4347 Airport Way Denver CO, 80249. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you will help design, direct, implement, and maintain the Operations and Maintenance budget for Denver International Airport. This is an important role with our annual O&M budget totaling around $790 million.
Specifically, as the Financial Analyst Associate you will:
Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual operating budget by supporting the identification of efficiencies, evaluating budget requests, and preparing management reports.
Provide customer service and administrative support to assigned divisions and stakeholders, responding to inquiries and assisting with budget-related matters.
Perform monthly budget execution analysis and contribute to the annual execution forecast, including analyzing major expenditures, calculating burn rates, and collaborating with team members to validate financial data.
Review budget overrun requests, assist in creating financial models, and provide recommendations to management based on analysis
Help manage and improve information technology systems that support operational resource planning, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency
Stay informed about activities and personnel within assigned divisions and communicate relevant updates or issues to management.
Contribute to operational resource planning by providing analytical support and collaborating with team members to achieve departmental goals.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Familiarity with airport management or airline industry
Experience using Excel or Workday
Experience performing analysis of a strategic, financial, or operational nature and formulating approaches to address identified issues
Collaborative and knowledgeable in budgeting and accounting for large government agencies
Self-starter with financial analysis professional with knowledge of, and interest in managing financial, strategic and risk analysis
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience Requirement: One (1) year of professional level experience researching, analyzing, calculating, and compiling financial data, debt or portfolio administration, or financial statistical analysis.
Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
