Financial Accounting Manager

Location: Remote (With Travel)

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Lead day‑to‑day financial accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports aligned with UKGAAP and corporate standards.
  • Prepare and review key accounting entries (payroll, accruals, prepayments, etc.).
  • Oversee the fixed asset register and ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage the production of statutory financial statements and support year‑end audits.

AP & AR Leadership

  • Oversee end‑to‑end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Review aged debtor/creditor reports and drive actions to optimise working capital.
  • Champion process improvements and enhanced automation.

Compliance & Governance

  • Lead statutory, internal and SOX audit requirements, ensuring strong controls and full compliance.
  • Oversee VAT returns and support wider tax obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to HMRC, ONS and regulatory reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor, coach and develop a team of financial accountants and supervisory staff.
  • Set clear priorities, allocate workloads and drive a high‑performance culture.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, systems and controls.
  • Support system upgrades, integrations and finance transformation projects.

Business Support

  • Provide timely analysis and insights to senior leadership.
  • Partner with corporate finance and deputise for the Financial Controller when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 8+ years’ post‑qualification experience.
  • Strong background in financial accounting, statutory reporting and audit management.
  • Solid knowledge of UKGAAP (FRS 101/102).
  • Experience managing AP/AR functions.
  • Confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical mind with exceptional attention to detail.
  • ERP experience and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • Audit background advantageous; SOX/USGAAP experience a plus.
