You will work closely with the wider finance team and the business, including store manager and head office teams.
This is an opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting expertise and a commercial mindset. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly reporting and IFRS deliverables, playing a pivotal role in the month‑end close, balance sheet and P&L reviews, and statutory compliance. The role also offers the chance to build strong relationships across the business and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast‑paced retail environment.
What you will be responsible for:
• IFRS reporting, including additional quarterly and annual disclosures
• Implementing and monitoring J‑SOX controls
• Preparing monthly journals and reconciliations for designated markets, and leading month‑end P&L reviews and balance sheet analysis meetings
• Holding regular discussions with Corporate Planning to support P&L management and business insight, while actively seeking cost‑saving initiatives for designated markets or the wider European business
• Presenting key findings on a monthly basis to the COOs for the assigned markets
• Building relationships with store management and the EC business to identify potential accounting issues and support management’s understanding of their P&Ls
• Taking ownership of compliance for designated countries, including local reporting requirements, coordination with third‑party tax consultants, VAT data, and local business statistics questionnaires
What we are looking for:
• Qualified Accountant or at the final stage of ACCA or ACA qualification (or equivalent)
• Retail experience is desirable; however, practical IFRS experience is preferred
• Expert knowledge of balance sheet and P&L account classifications
• Experience working with outsourced operations would be beneficial
• Highly computer literate, with expert knowledge of Excel
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
• Proactive and able to adapt easily to change
What we can offer you:
• 26 days’ holiday plus 8 bank holidays per annum
• 30% staff discount
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Private pension scheme
• Performance‑based bonus scheme
• Hybrid working model: 2 days remote, 3 days office‑based, with flexibility around month‑end
• Social events throughout the year
• Seasonal sample sales
• Two volunteer days per year
• Prime central London location near Piccadilly and Oxford Street stations
