Finance Team Manager, FP&A Retirement & Wealth

As Finance Manager, FP&A – North America WAM Retirement & Wealth, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering strategic financial insights and driving operational excellence across GWAM Retirement & Wealth businesses. This role combines leadership, stakeholder engagement, and analytical rigor to support planning, forecasting, and reporting activities. You will work closely with North America partners to enhance business performance, manage key initiatives, and ensure strong governance and control. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role will also serve as a responsible for the Personal Investing business unit under Wealth, focusing on flows reporting, forecasting, planning, and management reports. Leading a team of 4 FTE professionals, you’ll foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. This position follows a mid-shift schedule with flexibility to adjust hours based on business needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, actionable insights through variance analysis, trend identification, and scenario modeling.
  • Lead the production and oversight of deliverables for the new Personal Investing business unit, including flows and core earnings reporting, forecasting, and planning activities.
  • Prepare high-quality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Review and assist in consolidating management reports/dashboards, business channel reports, cost of management report, and ad hoc analyses.
  • Ensure adequate controls are in place and escalate issues promptly.
  • Support and train junior team members on processes and reporting requirements.
  • Drive resolution of critical issues and proactively manage control efficacy.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production problems and develops timely solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of templates report packages, highlight key issues, and actively look for resolution

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with North America WAM stakeholders – Retirement & Wealth.
  • Communicate effectively with global stakeholders including FP&A Consolidation, Group FP&A, Finance Technology, COE teams, Compliance, and Risk.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to operational processes and controls.
  • Escalate service issues and communicate production updates and challenges promptly.
  • Responsible for conducting timely governance service delivery calls with stakeholders.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, promoting team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Allocate tasks and oversee the team’s task monitoring system for business review reporting.
  • Coach, develop, and train team members, conduct feedback sessions, one-on-ones, and performance reviews.
  • Lead regular business reviews and produce dashboard reports on team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs and internal standards.
  • Optimize resource utilization and align team capabilities with business needs.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and coordination with HR, IT, and Finance.

Project & Process Management:

  • Act as project manager for short-term initiatives, streamlining, and automation efforts.
  • Champion continuous improvement in reporting, analysis, and FP&A processes.
  • Lead special projects involving new services, products, or process enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, CFA, CISI, or CAT is an advantage.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial services or shared services, with 3+ years exposure to people leading role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Wealth & Asset management industry and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of production environments and reporting systems.
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience migrating tasks from onshore to Manila.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications. Strong Microsoft Excel skills required with ability to understand high volume of data and complex formulas. VBA macro skill is not required.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Anaplan. Anaplan Level 1 is an advantage but not required.
  • Familiarity with IFRS tools (SmartView-Essbase, Lawson).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures.
  • Flexible shift schedules and willingness to work overtime when needed.
