Finance Manager - 1 Year FTC

Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting for Corporate Finance, The Finance Manager is a key member of the corporate finance team, responsible for financial control, reporting, and governance across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. This role focuses on producing accurate financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and working closely with management and key stakeholders including Tax, Treasury, Legal and FP&A. Keenova Therapeutics is a fast-moving company and responding to the needs of the Keenova Therapeutics group will be an important part of this role.

Job Description

Essential Functions

 

•        Manage the accounting close monthly including but not limited to preparing and reviewing journal entries, period end Balance Sheet and P&L analysis, HFM reports and balance sheet reconciliations

•        Own the month‑end and quarter‑end close processes and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Manage local and group reporting deadlines for designated legal entities

  • Presentation of Financials at  subsidiary Board meetings for specified  legal entities

    Month End Close - Review and approve:

    o   SAP journals

    o   HFM consolidations and intercompany eliminations

    o   Analytical reviews and variance analysis

    o   Blackline reconciliations

    •        Present financial results to management and explain technical accounting matters in clear plain language.

    Statutory & Tax Compliance

    •        Review and approve statutory financial statements and supporting workpapers across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

    •        Prepare accounting papers to support going‑concern assessments and the carrying value of subsidiaries.

    •        Act as a point of contact for external auditors and support the timely resolution of audit queries.

    •        Coordinate and review tax returns prepared by external advisors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    •        Ensure delivery in accordance with statutory and corporate deadlines

    Management Accounting and Scenario Modelling

    •        Prepare, review, and present management accounts, providing clear commentary and explanation of key movements.

    •        Carry out scenario modelling and stress testing to support decision‑making.

    •        Review cash flow forecasts and working capital positions to ensure all entities remain on a going‑concern basis.

    Perform impairment assessments in line with local GAAP and group accounting policies.

    Coordinate with local advisers on providing solutions to complex local GAAP accounting for designated OUS legal entities

    Internal Controls & Risk

    •        Ensure compliance with SOX controls, internal policies, and audit requirements.

    •        Strengthen the internal control framework by:

    o   Tightening approval processes.

    o   Standardising documentation and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place.

    General

    Support Senior Director of Accounting in coordinating and delivering on ad-hoc Projects

    Ad-hoc Group reporting as required

    Support the forecast and budget process for designated OUS legal entities. Work with FP&A to deliver accurate local information

    Ensure an approach of continuous improvement to identify, develop, and implement process changes to increase efficiency, ensure accurate monthly reporting, and streamline accounting processes.

    Manage VAT filings for designated OUS legal entities

    Manage any information requests from tax inspectors and auditors in respect of designated OUS legal entities

    Manage ongoing relationships with other group functions

    Act as a resource and problem solver for operational matters as needed, such as company restructuring and regulatory changes

    Lead and develop a team of qualified accountants.

    Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback.

    Encourage ownership and accountability within the team.

    Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, simplifications, and opportunities to automate.

    Manage relationships up, down, and across the organisation.

    Build effective working relationships with external advisors and service providers.

    Adapt communication style to the audience, from detailed finance discussions to senior non‑finance stakeholders.

    Minimum Requirements

     

    Education / Experience / Skills:

     

    5+ years’ experience in a similar role

    ACCA/ACA qualified

    Business or Finance degree 

    Excellent communication skills

    Advanced Excel skills

    Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved

    Ability to manage, coach and develop individuals and lead teams

    Collaborative

    Ability to model and create a quality culture

    Organizational Relationship/Scope:

     

    This position will interact frequently with finance teams across the organization – FP&A, AP, Tax and Accounting. This position will also interact with internal and external legal, tax and accounting consultants engaged by Keenova Therapeutics e.g.  Big 4 firms

     

     

    Working Conditions:

     

    This is an office-based role with minimal travel required.
