The CFO is part of the CBA NV Management Board and heads the CFO and COO team. The team is focused on building scalable financial processes and supporting growth. Refer to our latest Annual Report for more information.  On a daily basis the Financial Controller leads the finance team and works closely with the CFO and local as well as international stakeholders. In this role you will report to the Financial Controller and act as a key support, contributing in a broad range of finance activities across statutory reporting, technical accounting and reporting as well as strategic finance inititiatives.

Do work that matters:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Own end-to-end high quality delivery of month- and year-end close as well as financial reporting outputs, being timely and accurate;
  • Support preparation of statutory financial statements, including disclosures and working papers, ensuring audit-ready documentation and compliance with IFRS;
  • Provide input into technical accounting assessments and implementation, supporting appropriate accounting treatment and consistency across the business;
  • Lead audit execution, acting as the primary point of coordination for auditors and managing deliverables across the team and stakeholders;
  • Oversee accounts payable processes and controls, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and a strong control environment;
  • Support capital adequacy and regulatory deliverables, preparing analysis and documentation for review and contributing to broader financial and balance sheet considerations;
  • Support finance workstreams for product implementation and business initiatives, ensuring appropriate accounting, controls and reporting are in place;
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce risk and improve scalability;
  • Act as a key support to the Financial Controller, contributing across statutory reporting, technical accounting and strategic finance initiatives.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • A Certified Accountant (CA) qualification and 4–7 years of relevant working experience within a bank or financial services institute and/ or experience within a big 4 accounting firm is desirable;
  • Demonstrated strong technical accounting skills, ownership mindset, with the ability to drive outcomes and deliver high-quality work independently;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret financial information and provide practical insights;
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, coordinate deliverables and escalate issues effectively;
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo;
  • Resilience, strong work ethic and a hands-on approach, aligned to CBA’s values of Care, Courage and Commitment.
