Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

Job Summary 

Kairos Power is seeking a motivated Finance Intern to engage in daily finance processes, analytics, and reporting. In this collaborative environment, the intern will work under the guidance of the Senior Financial Analyst and alongside experienced peers to support operational and analytical finance initiatives. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and enhance quarterly management reporting files using Tableau, Excel and Power Point. 
  • Support data-driven insights by leveraging Alteryx and Tableau for financial and operational analyses. 
  • Assist with preparation of project reports and collaborate with project managers on monthly and/or quarterly project tracking and status updates. 
  • Work alongside the Supply Chain and Procurement team to streamline Purchase Order management and develop analytics to track key metrics. 
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and analytical reports as needed or requested. 
  • Support the Senior Financial Analyst with weekly cash flow reporting and forecasting updates. 
  • Update and maintain forecasting and budgeting files, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across systems. 
  • Acquire business acumen to support accurate expenditure coding on Purchase Orders. 
  • Actively engage in continuous learning opportunities, particularly in data analytics and process automation. 
  • Gain proficiency in accounting/finance and analytics software, including NetSuite, Coupa, Tableau and Alteryx. 
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to support accurate financial reporting.

  • Document financial processes, reporting methodologies, or analytical assumptions to support transparency and repeatability. 
  • Support month-end or quarter-end close activities through data preparation or variance analysis, as appropriate for an intern role. 
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain exposure to business operations and financial decision-making processes. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, data analytics, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in data visualization, business intelligence, or analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL). 
  • Interest in a high-growth technology company, with an appreciation for clean energy. 
  • Proficient in Excel; GAAP knowledge preferred. 
  • Exposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) or financial systems through coursework, projects, or prior internships is desirable.
