Job Description:
Guggenheim Securities is seeking a summer intern to join its Finance team in New York. The ideal candidate should possess analytical capabilities, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Furthermore, this person will need to be able to multi-task while managing expectations in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
This internship is part of Guggenheim’s Corporate Intern program, which includes exposure across the firm through education, mentorship, networking and community service outreach events. As an Intern, you will also be exposed to senior management, gain an understanding of the financial services industry, and learn critical business skills.
Essential Job Functions
The Finance department serves as a critical business function that is responsible for all aspects of finance including reporting and forecasting revenue, expenses, profitability, balance sheet and cash flow metrics. Sub-functions include accounting, FP&A, regulatory & risk, treasury management, accounts payable/receivable, compensation, etc.
Support Finance functions including:
Competitive analysis
Management reporting (daily, weekly and monthly review of business performance)
Planning (budget, forecast, strategic plan, and business reviews)
Expense reporting and analysis
Cash application
Ad hoc financial analysis as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues appropriately
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures in a push toward constant improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of management
Strong organization, time management, and oral/written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Basic Qualifications
3.0 GPA or higher through tenure
Strong level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, intermediate excel
Must be on track to receive Bachelors, Masters, or equivalent degree between December 2026 to Spring 2028
Work Location
Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week.
Salary
$20 per hour/ 40 hours a week
