Finance DirectorThe Role
KBR is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Director (UK and Europe) to lead the overall financial strategy, governance, and performance of the organization. Reporting to our Vice President, this role will combine strategic financial leadership with operational oversight to ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and long-term value creation.
The Finance Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and a board member of multiple Private Finance Initiatives. You will be responsible for translating financial insights into commercial and strategic decisions that support business growth, operational performance, and risk management.

Due to the nature of our projects, applicants must have a minimum of five years’ UK residency to meet security clearance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and growth initiatives. Provide financial insight, scenario modelling, and analysis to support strategic initiatives, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and business transformation efforts. Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership on commercial, operational, and risk-related matters.
Financial Planning & Performance Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, including sensitivity analysis and financial scenario modelling. Monitor financial performance against targets, identifying risks and opportunities to support effective business decision-making.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, financial dashboards, and executive-level reports. Lead statutory reporting activities and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP and/or IFRS) and Companies Act requirements.
Governance, Risk & Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices. Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax obligations, including requirements from HMRC, Companies House, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Oversee treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimization. Support funding strategies and banking relationships where applicable to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
Finance Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure appropriate capability, succession planning, and professional development across the finance function.
Business Partnership: Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders to drive sustainable profitable growth, improve cost management, and enhance financial performance. Provide financial insights and analysis to support pricing strategies, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
External Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, financial institutions, investors, and professional advisors. Lead external audit processes and ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
What we Need
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification.
Extensive experience in senior finance leadership, with responsibility for financial planning, reporting, and governance at an executive or board level.
Experience managing external stakeholder relationships, including auditors, financial institutions, and professional advisors
Financial Leadership & Expertise
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities
Deep understanding of UK financial regulations, taxation frameworks, and corporate governance standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including board-level engagement
High ethical standards, professional integrity, and sound financial judgment
Ability to operate effectively in complex and fast-paced organisational environments
