The Opportunity
The Finance Director within the Corporate Finance Business Insights & Strategic Initiatives team leads large Business Unit, Enterprise-wide or material programs. Additionally, the Director provides rapid-response leadership through anticipative pattern recognition, analysis and insights to acute opportunities/challenges to the company. This role will provide thought-partnership to Corporate and Divisional cross-functional organizations across domestic and international affiliates at Abbott. They will be responsible for designing analysis approach and responsible for insights to historical and forecasted financials and determining decisions and actions for consideration. Activities may include – complex financial analysis and modelling, and strategic initiative project/program management.
What You'll Work On
Advocate and lead a consistent methodology and approach for opportunity/problem framing, generating insights, decision-making and risk mitigation
Lead Divisional or Corporate teams on longer-term decisions, alternatives, prescription, actions and contingencies; Assist various large Division controllers on critical project analytics and decisions
Collaborate and influence Finance-functional leadership and lead projects that cross multiple stakeholders - including Procurement, Economics, Tax, Treasury, ATO – by framing material issues to the company
Design and lead projects for long-term value creation; Determine the ‘what must happen/stay on track’; Establish and evaluate key metrics; Drive results through innovative value creation and initiatives for continuous, measurable improvements
Design assessment of external competitive analytics
Provide valuation models for material decisions to Abbott
Offer thought-provoking questions to assist in Executive decision-making
Evaluate commercial performance through advanced analytical methods
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or another non-related field with an MBA
10+ years of working in the industry in which an Abbott business competes
Proven history of critical thinking and problem solving, providing insights and delivering tangible results
Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex topics to a broad financial and non-financial audience
Experience leading large and complex projects with team members of various levels of management, including Executive-level
History of connecting various and disperse data to anticipate opportunities/issues and generate insights
Proven track record of anticipative thinking and advising stakeholder(s) of evolving opportunities/issues
History of effective written and oral communication and presenting to Executives; Clear communication skills within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Advance financial modelling and analytics on commercial performance
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting healthcare industries
Strong communication and interpersonal skills interacting with domestic and international Corporate Finance including FP&A, Shared Services, CFS, Procurement, Operations among others

The base pay for this position is
$149,300.00 – $298,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
