Finance Change & Data Lead - Senior Accountant

Role Purpose

The Finance Change & Data Lead will drive strategic finance transformation initiatives and ensure robust data governance across Finance & Actuarial (F&A) systems. This role blends deep technical accounting expertise with leadership in change programmes and hands‑on data management. You will oversee system developments, process improvements, and automation projects—ensuring compliance with financial standards while enabling efficient, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead financial impact assessments and operational readiness for business changes affecting F&A systems and data.

  • Define and document finance-related business requirements for system enhancements and process improvements.

  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial data across systems and reporting processes.

  • Own and monitor key financial controls related to data, systems, and reporting outputs.

  • Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and compatibility testing for finance system changes.

  • Ensure smooth transition of new solutions to BAU teams with proper documentation and training.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in finance processes.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement data‑driven solutions for financial reporting and analysis.

  • Work closely with actuaries, finance teams, IT, and external providers to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Communicate complex technical and financial concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Participate in wider change programmes and forums within the Group.

Skill Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or near‑qualified with 8+ years of significant relevant experience.

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, accounting processes, and system change projects.

  • Strong understanding of data management and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Tagetik, SAP Business Object(s)).

  • Exposure to automation tools and process‑improvement focus.

  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.

  • Ability to translate finance requirements into clear technical specifications.

  • Proven capability to operate within project environments and manage engagement with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, adaptable, and collaborative, with a focus on delivering high‑quality outcomes.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
