Finance Business Advice Expert Business Banking NL

ACT (Amsterdam - Acanthus) Full time

Do you want to make a real impact by supporting ING’s Business Banking management with strong financial insights, disciplined cost control and meaningful performance dialogue? Are you curious about what drives the numbers and confident in challenging stakeholders constructively? Then this role in Finance Business Advice might be your next step.

About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Business Advisor to strengthen our Finance Business Advice (FBA) Business Banking team. FBA acts as the financial conscience of ING NL: we consolidate performance, safeguard financial discipline and translate complex financial data into steering insights.

In this role, you will combine performance analysis, forecasting and cost control. You will own the consolidation of Business Banking financials including the forecasting cycle, where you align within the team to get relevant insights. Furthermore, you are responsible for the cost control of the Business Banking expense base. You work closely with senior Business Banking stakeholders and cooperate intensively with other Finance teams, including Retail Head Office Finance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Consolidate and analyze Business Banking financials (actuals, forecasts, plans) and translate them into clear performance narratives for senior management.
    • Coordinate forecasting and planning cycles, challenging assumptions and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
    • Actively manage and steer the Business Banking cost base, explaining variances, key drivers, and advising on trade‑offs.
    • Partner closely with senior Business Banking stakeholders and Retail Head Office Finance to ensure alignment on assumptions, methodologies, and messaging.
    • Continuously improve reporting, insights, and finance processes, while responding effectively to ad‑hoc and urgent management requests.

    How You Succeed

We hire you for your curiosity, ownership and collaborative mindset. To succeed in this role, you bring:

    • A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business.
    • Experience in financial analysis, business control or FBA/FP&A, preferably within banking or financial services.
    • Strong analytical skills, combined with the ability to understand and explain drivers behind the numbers.
    • Experience with forecasting, planning and performance management.
    • A proactive attitude, flexibility under pressure and strong prioritisation skills.
    • Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a strong advantage.
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

    What We Offer

    • A high‑impact role at the heart of Business Banking performance and cost control.
    • Close collaboration with senior management and multiple Finance functions.
    • A professional, open and ambitious Finance environment with strong development opportunities.
    • Hybrid working and a competitive benefits package.
